COVID CHAOS: Villa’s game with Everton postponed
Aston Villa's coronavirus chaos continues as the club's game with Everton was postponed due to the infections within the squad.
Dean Smith's side were forced to field a youthful side in the third round of the FA Cup against Liverpool and haven't played a game since.
It leaves a serious issue regarding Villa's fixture schedule as the club are set to play six games in just under three weeks.
The club's training ground, Bodymoor Heath, will see a phased return of players and staff this week as they prepare to return to action against Manchester City on Wednesday.
It's a mixed bag for Everton, who despite now face a fixture pile-up themselves, will be thankful for the extra rest time to get players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan back to full fitness.
No date has yet been set for the rearranged fixture, but Everton will return to action on Sunday evening against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
