SEVERNSIDE DERBY: McCarthy’s first win as Bluebirds boss
Mick McCarthy's first win as Cardiff City manager came in the Severnside Derby at Ashton Gate.
The Bluebirds ran out 2-0 winners at their bitter rivals Bristol City denting their promotion hopes.
Harry Wilson set up the first goal with his excellent free-kick and Curtis Nelson headed in the opener.
Kiefer Moore doubled the Bluebirds' lead less than 10 minutes later with another header - this time Sheyi Ojo the provider.
McCarthy's side are unbeaten since he replaced Neil Harris, with two draws and one win.
The win moves them up to 14th in the table, with not much to play for this season.
However, the win will provide much-needed joy to the Cardiff fans who've had a disappointing season so far.
Bristol City's fans will be disappointed at their side's defeat against their arch-rivals.
