LOCAL UPDATE: More stop and searches throughout the pandemic & Wolverhampton Council confirm a ‘world class’ operator for Civic Halls
There was a rise in police stop and searches between March and December 2020 compared to the same period in twenty nineteen despite the pandemic according to new figures. West Midlands Police conducted 20, 658 searches which is 627 more than the previous year.
A homeless charity is joining forces with Saint George's Church of England Primary School in Ladywood, Birmingham to dish up more than two hundred hot meals a day for desperate families over half-term. The Midlands Langar Seva Society are using the school kitchens to feed those in need.
Finally, City of Wolverhampton Council has said that a ‘world class’ entertainment operator is to be appointed for the Civic Halls. The iconic venue is due to reopen in 2022, with the council set to approve a preferred operator on Thursday with it being announced in May
