LOCAL UPDATE: Prisoners at HMP get coronavirus vaccines & Jaguar Land Rover confirm non-factory 2000 job losses
Hospitals across the region have recorded huge falls in the number of coronavirus admissions. Data from the NHS shows 1320 were taken to hospital in the week from January 4th but in the first week of February that has fallen to 759.
Meanwhile, OAP prisoners at HMP Birmingham are receiving their coronavirus vaccine throughout this week. There is controversy as this means they are getting their jabs ahead of some key workers like police officers and teachers.
Finally, Jaguar Land Rover have admitted that they will be cutting 2000 non-factory jobs globally. It follows their announcement on Monday that they will be going all-electric which included re-assurances about manufacturing jobs. However, a streamlining of the car giant - who have a factory in Wolverhampton - will mean some redundancies.
