LOCAL UPDATE: Black Country MPs back cautious easing of lockdown & Police chief says officers should be prioritised for vaccine
Black Country MPs are backing the idea of a cautious easing of coronavirus restrictions in England.
This includes Labour MP for Wolverhampton South East Pat McFadden. He said, "After the experience in the last year when we've been in this stop and go cycle with three different lockdowns, the lesson of that is to proceed carefully and to go step by step rather than a big bang.“
Meanwhile, Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson has said frontline officers should be prioritised for the Covid jab on the basis that they are having to break up illegal gatherings. He also revealed officers were pelted with bottles after shutting down a large gathering near the Jewellery Quarter on 14th February.
Finally, two people were taken to hospital on Monday after a car crash on Birchfield Lane in Oldbury. Five medical crews attended the scene at around ten thirty am and a man and woman were taken to Sandwell Hospital.
