LOCAL UPDATE: 90% of over 70’s in West Midlands have had vaccine & 4 taken to hospital after triple stabbing
New figures show that more than ninety per cent of the over seventies in the West Midlands have had their first dose of the vaccination.
A hundred and ninety six thousand five hundred of those over seventy is a higher percentage of an uptake than experts predicted.
Next, a triple stabbing in Smethwick resulted in four men being taken to hospital. Emergency services were called to a multi-occupancy property in Cranford Street at around 7pm on Tuesday night. Three men were taken to hospital to be treated for stab wounds whilst another suffered potentially serious injuries after jumping from a window.
Finally, two men have been found guilty of attacking an innocent man at a barbers in Birchills back in May 2019. 21 year-old Uzair Shahid was found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life whilst 19 year-old Toyub Ali was found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence at Wolverhampton Crown Court on the 19th February. They will be sentenced on the 29th April.
