Data from the government shows that over a thousand people contracted coronavirus in Birmingham, the Black Country and Solihull in the seven days leading up to the 31st of March. Two postcodes recorded rates of over 200 cases per 100,000 people.
Next, West Midlands Police have charged a man with causing death by dangerous driving after a two week old baby died after the pram he was in was trapped against a wall by a car in Brownhills on Easter Sunday. 34 year-old James Paul Davis is now set to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.
Finally, a woman was taken to Heartlands hospital on Tuesday morning after her car hit a wall near Marks and Spencers in Solihull on Tuesday morning. The incident happened shortly after 8am on Poplar Road. The woman's injuries were not believed to be serious.
