TOP FOUR RACE: Villa head to Anfield to take on Liverpool
Aston Villa travel to Anfield at the weekend looking to remain in the mix for a top four finish by picking up three points.
Dean Smith’s side hammered Liverpool 7-2 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and put in a solid display to beat Fulham last weekend.
There are question marks surrounding the fitness of key man Jack Grealish, who missed out again last time out through injury.
Five points separates the sides ahead of kick off but Villa have a game in hand on Liverpool and a win here could put them within touching distance of their opponents.
Meanwhile, Liverpool come in to the match off the back of a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League Quarter-Final against Real Madrid.
Since the turn of the year Liverpool’s home form has been on a downward spiral as they have slid down the league table.
Jürgen Klopp’s side haven’t won a Premier League match at Anfield since before Christmas and have only picked up two draws in that time.
They currently stand on a run of six straight home league defeats, including one in the Merseyside Derby against Everton.
There is some hope for Liverpool fans though as their last game on home turf saw them comfortably beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League Round of 16.
