ASTON VILLA: Tyrone Mings praises two teammates after intense derby draw
Tyrone Mings praises two teammates after intense derby draw against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday night.
Aston Villa fought back in injury time to grab a draw against West Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion. Anwar El Ghazi opened the scoring from the spot before Matheus Pereira equalised with a penalty of his own. An own goal by Mings himself looked to have given the Baggies a much needed win but Keinan Davis was the unlikely hero, nabbing his first ever Premier League goal.
Mings took to social media to praise Davis saying, “@keinan first PL goal is so deserved so let’s keep up the positive vibesss 😄💜.” But the defensive talisman also took the opportunity to shout out another of Villa’s strikers in Wesley.
The Brazilian number 9 has not tasted first team action for a mammoth 480 days since suffering a serious injury after a promising start to the 2019/20 season and in the same Twitter post Mings said, It’s easy to be frustrated and consumed in negativity when we haven’t delivered positive results on the pitch, but for Wes, 480 days is one hell of a lonely road and a huge achievement.”
