Jury sworn in for trial of police officer accused of murdering Dalian Atkinson & Dudley found to be the cheapest place to rent in West Midlands.
The jury for a trial of a police officer accused of murdering ex-Aston Villa footballer Dalian Atkinson has been sworn in. Twelve jurors along with two alternative ones were chosen will sit on the trial of West Mercia Police Constable Benjamin Monk at Birmingham Crown Court.
Next, government data has revealed that Dudley is the cheapest place to rent in the West Midlands. The index compares the average percentage of annual salary spent on rental payments. Dudley has a ratio of 21.8% of income spent on rent compared to the average for the whole of the West Midlands which is 26.4%.
Finally, a bar in Sutton Coldfield is hoping to extend its licensable hours to be open until 1am from Thursdays to Saturdays. Some residents aren't happy with the plans from the Cask and Craft bar with worries that other outlets on the Boldmere Road will follow suit. One was quoted as saying, “It could lead to anti-social behaviour.”
