LOCAL UPDATE: Police bust rave under M6 & Cinema plans for Drayton Manor
West Midlands Police have shut down an illegal rave taking place under the M6.
The event which was a major breach of coronavirus laws was being held dangerously close to a river and motorway. Thermal imaging cameras spotted around 30 people partying under the bridge.
Police say twenty-two people were issued with fines.
A fresh appeal has been launched, one year on from a Perry Barr moped tragedy. Liam Mooney who was aged 16 died after an incident with a silver car on Monday 22 March 2020. the driver of the silver car sped off and police are asking for both that driver or any person with information to get in touch.
DRAYTON MANOR MOVIES
Drayton Manor theme park has submitted plans for a huge drive-in cinema. Planning permission has been sought for a change of use of a car park and instillation of a film screen, toilets and other ancillary facilities. If successful the Staffordshire venue plans to screen three movies per day to around 1200 vehicles.
