Smethwick and Cape Hill residents urged to get test for coronavirus & Over 237,000 food parcels delivered in West Midlands in last 12 months
People in parts of Smethwick and Cape Hill are being reminded to get a coronavirus test. Targeted testing in specific streets in the b sixty six postcode is needed after a case of the South African variant of coronavirus was discovered there.
Next, figures by the Trussell Trust show that thousands of food parcels had to be handed out to people in the West Midlands during the first year. 226,327 parcels had to be delivered to those in hunger between March 2020 and April 2021, an increase from just over a hundred and sixty nine thousand in the previous year.
