LOCAL UPDATE: Sandwell Council urge residents to get tested & man gets 13 months in jail for fly-tipping
Those living in Sandwell are being advised to take a test even if they are feeling unwell, even if they aren't displaying the key symptoms of coronavirus.
Lisa McNally, Director of Public Health in Sandwell said, "It's better to be safe than sorry especially now that the new 'Kent' variant of the virus is very prevalent."
A fly tipper has been sentenced to thirteen months in jail at Birmingham Crown Court. 47 year-old James Michael McCann of Claerwen Grove, Northfield persistently dumped waste on Wolseley Drive in Ward End in September 2019.
Finally, Birmingham City Council have decided to provide increased aid to the city's most struggling households. Birmingham residents in receipt of Council Tax Support will be given a £275 discount on their council tax for 2021/22.
