TOP STORIES: Local councils pledge to home some Afghan refugees
Wolverhampton and Birmingham councils have said they will each re-home 80 individuals as part of the Afghan Relocation Scheme for interpreters who have served with British forces. Sandwell Council has also promised 25 homes in its borough.
A man jailed for his role in the killing of a 23-year-old husband during a row in a Birmingham street, has this week had his sentence increased after an appeal by the Crown Prosecution Service. Jamie Taylor, was convicted of the manslaughter of Amaan Momand on 19 September, 2019. His sentenced has increased from four years to five years and three months after judges said the original sentence as unduly lenient.
