TOP STORIES: Rider critical after E-scooter collision & B’ham clean air zone charges start
West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses after a man riding an e-scooter was critically injured in a collision with a car in Wolverhampton.
Officers were called by paramedics to Prestwood Road at 3.25pm on Saturday, where it's believed the vehicle collided with a VW Golf. The 20-year-old man riding the e-scooter was taken to hospital to be treated for a serious head injury, while a woman, aged 19, believed to have been a passenger on the e-scooter was also seriously injured.
Clean air zone charges started in Birmingham this Monday. Cars, taxis and vans that do not meet Clean Air Zone emission standards will be charged £8 a day, and non-compliant coaches, buses and lorries will be charged £50 per day. Charges are applied 24 hours a day across every day of the year.
