CONSECUTIVE: Birmingham City chasing successive home league victories against Bristol City
Aitor Karanka will be aiming to guide Birmingham City to back-to-back Championship victories at St Andrews against Bristol City.
They haven't done that since October 2019 when they defeated Middlesbrough, Blackburn and Luton Town in the space of a month.
Having lost only one of their last 10 home league games against the Robins, Karanka's side might be positive about achieving their goal.
December 2018 was that singular defeat, with Blues winning six and drawing the other three.
In fact, Bristol City have lost 14 of their last 19 league games against Birmingham, winning just two.
Opposition in focus
New manager Nigel Pearson took over last month following the sacking of Dean Holden.
They've won both of their away games with him as the boss but lost two on the spin at home.
The Robins haven't won three Championship away games in a row since February 2020 under former boss Lee Johnson.
Pearson has never lost a league match as manager against Birmingham City either.
He's won three and drawn two in five previous meetings.
A Blues win would move them in the right direction - away from the relegation zone, while the Robins look to keep clear of trouble themselves.
