EMILIANO BUENDIA: Norwich midfielder scoops top EFL award
As the regular season drew to a close, Emiliano Buendia claimed the honour of the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Season.
Buendia beat team-mate Teemu Pukki and record-breaking Brentford striker Ivan Toney to the award following an outstanding season.
This year marks the second time the Argentinian midfielder has tasted promotion with Norwich City, having been a part of the 2018/19 squad that also won the title under Daniel Farke
After impressing during the clubs spell in the Premier League, Buendia looked to be heading elsewhere last summer, but stayed with the Canaries and helped them back to the top flight.
Season in Numbers
Norwich City signed off the season with a 2-2 draw away from home against Barnsley, a game which Buendia scored in.
The club amassed 97 points on their way to the title and Buendia played a huge part in their success with 30 goal contributions.
His division high number of 16 assists as well as his 14 goals made him the obvious choice for the player of the season and saw him become only the fourth player outside of the British Isles to win the award.
City will be hoping to keep hold of him as they look to avoid relegation from the Premier League next season, with a host of clubs believed to be interested.
