GREALISH RETURNS: Villa captain will be fit to take on Fulham
Aston Villa return to league action against Fulham over the weekend boosted by the return of Jack Grealish.
Grealish has missed the last six games and Villa’s European hopes have suffered as a result.
Since the injury to their captain, Dean Smith’s side have picked up just five points from a possible 18 and are without a win since February.
The club are still chasing a Europa League spot next season and a return to form would put them well in the race for Villa Park to host European football next season.
After a poor start to their season saw them entrenched in a relegation battle and destined for an instant return to the Championship, Scott Parker’s side have given themselves a chance of safety.
Whilst their home form remains patchy, Fulham haven’t lost on the road since a trip to table toppers Manchester City in early December.
They have picked up plenty of draws on that run but recently beat both Merseyside clubs away from home and are now just two points inside the relegation zone.
Fulham are on a run of three defeats in four games having faced some tough opposition and the return of Grealish is likely to strike fear in to their fans.
Villa won the reverse fixture 3-0 in September and are chasing a first league double over the visitors since the 2009/10 season.
The home side are enduring a second sequence so far this season of at least three games at Villa Park without a win.
During this period, three out of the four goals conceded by Villa have come between the 15th and 30th minute, so a good start could be imperative for the home side.
