Hannah Martin scored a brace to help Great Britain’s women cruise past India 4-1 as the defending champions continued their Olympic recovery.
Lily Owsley’s strike and Grace Balsdon’s penalty added to Martin scoring twice to earn a comfortable win at the Oi Hockey Stadium in Tokyo.
Sharmila Devi struck for India but Team GB now face Holland on Thursday after successive wins in Pool A following an opening defeat to Germany.
Martin pounced inside the first two minutes when she turned in the rebound from close range after goalkeeper Savita Punia saved Shona McCallin’s effort.
Team GB dominated and midfielder Martin made it 2-0 when she fired through the goalkeeper’s legs after 19 minutes.
India pulled a goal back seven minutes before half-time when Devi prodded in Gurjit Kaur’s drive, which was going wide.
India, who are yet to win in Tokyo, put the pressure on in the third quarter and Maddie Hinch kept them at bay with Laura Unsworth also clearing off the line.
Against the run of play Team GB added a third when Owsley converted from close range after another McCallin assist.
India appealed and it was reviewed after Giselle Ainsley’s initial cross went airborne but it was rejected.
Balsdon then capped a confident performance with three minutes left when she netted from the spot.
