MAC BIRMINGHAM: Welcoming back guests with a fantastic new cafe and restaurant
The Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham has invested £1.17M to support on-site development, which includes new cafe and restaurant KILN.
Supported by players of the People’s Postcode lottery and Arts Council England the new facility will offer visitors a vibrant and relaxing dining space. With a focus on accessibility, comfort and creativity the eatery will help fund the wide range of events and services offered at the centre.
The former cafe’s refurbishment has allowed for an increased number of seating covers, more of the menu to be created on site and the generation of new jobs. It will also be available for private hires and evening service from autumn 2021.
The restaurant also offers an open-plan bakery section, pizza oven and cocktail bar. MAC Artistic Director and CEO Debbie Kermode believes the new look will keep the centre afloat following a lengthy lockdown closure.
MAC Birmingham continues to be one of the most important centres for the arts in the UK with a series of post lockdown events being offered over the coming months.
